SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. -- A lieutenant with Stafford County Sheriff's Office is getting national attention after busting out some impressive dance moves recently.

Lt. Deuntay Diggs performed to Beyoncé’s song "Formation" at a recent back to school expo at Spotsylvania Town Centre. The event collects school supplies for children in need.

His performance, which was part of a lip sync featuring law enforcement, won the top prize.

Video of Diggs’ dancing quickly went viral after it was posted by @mrldavis on Instagram Tuesday. As of Wednesday afternoon, it had been viewed more than 13,000 times.

Diggs told WJLA that the "Formation" serves as a good way to reach out to the community.

“I want to show the community that, law enforcement, we’re human, that we have feelings and emotions and we’re really part of the community," Diggs said. "I know there’s a lot going on nationally when it comes to law enforcement and the community, so I’m really focused on bridging that gap and listening to people.”

Diggs told the station Beyonce is his favorite singer.

“I’ve followed her since Destiny’s Child way back in the day," he said.
