Caitlyn Jenner’s “I Am Cait” will not be having a third season, CNN confirms.

Jenner broke the news herself on Tuesday via Twitter.

“After 2 amazing seasons of @IAmCait, it’s time for the next adventure. Thank you E! & thank you to the best girlfriends I could ask for!” Jenner wrote.

“I Am Cait” premiered in July 2015 to much praise from activists who billed it as a major moment for transgender visibility in mainstream media. Jenner’s personal politics, however, at times made her the target for backlash from the community that once supported her.

In a September 2015 appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the host confronted Jenner, a Republican, about her preferred party’s views on LGBTQ issues.

Season 2 of her reality show, which experienced a drop in ratings, largely focused on Jenner’s education on transgender issues.

The season came to a close in April.

“We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of ‘I Am Cait,’ a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs,” read a statement from the E! network. “Caitlyn and E! have mutually decided not to move forward with another season at this time. She will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.'”
