PETERSBURG, Va. -- A teenager was wounded in a shooting in Petersburg, Thursday afternoon.
Police received a call about a victim in the 100 block of Tabb Street, near City Hall, around 3:30 p.m. on August 11.
Petersburg Police said that the fourteen-year-old boy was shot on Harding Street in an area known as The Heights.
They said the teen jumped on the back of a moped that traveled downtown.
The moped turned onto Tabb Street, and the teen got off the moped because he was bleeding so badly, according to police.
Bystanders called 911.
The teen was taken to Southside Regional Medical Center, where police plan to interview him.
