CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. — A missing Caroline County man has been found Wednesday, according to police sources. They tell us 57-year-old Craig Lewis has been admitted to a medical facility, but additional details concerning his health are unavailable at this time.
Police have not confirmed where Lewis was located.
The U.S. Postal Worker was last seen on July 29 for a shift at a Richmond facility. He was reported missing to the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office by family members on August 3.
Lewis also suffers from a medical condition and was believed to be without his needed medication.
Tuesday, investigators said Lewis’ vehicle was involved in a Richmond police chase on August 1, but Caroline investigators don’t believe he was in it at the time.
“His vehicle was involved in a pursuit on August 1,” said Lt. Travis Nutter. “We don’t believe he was driving the car, though.”
The pursuit started at Leigh St. and Hermitage Rd., but police pulled back near Rennie Ave. and Brook Rd. because of dangerously high speeds.
Police later found Lewis’s car abandoned in the 3000 block of Noble Avenue in Ginter Park several miles away.
“It was seized by police and processed by our forensic investigators,” said Nutter.
Deputies also say that Lewis had not used his credit or debit cards, nor his cell phone in almost 10 days.
