American flags stolen from veterans’ graves; Pokémon Go players could help catch thieves

YORKTOWN, Va. – Authorities are asking for the public’s help to find whoever stole 12 flags from veterans’ graves at a church in Yorktown.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said the American flags were stolen from graveyard at Grace Episcopal Church Friday night or early Sunday morning.

“We are hoping someone saw something since there has been an increase in people in Yorktown during the nighttime hours playing Pokémon Go,” a Facebook post on the sheriff’s office Facebook page reads.
