CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- An underage truck driver was charged with driving after illegally consuming alcohol following a fiery Friday morning crash on Rhodes Lane, near Sandy Ford Road, in Matoaca.

Police identified Brandon A. Wilmoth, 20, of the 11400 block of Ivywood Road in Chesterfield, as the driver of the truck.

At about 12:15 a.m. the truck flipped off the road, landed upside down in a creek, and then caught on fire.

Wilmoth was taken to VCU Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

While investigating the crash, Chesterfield Police determined the driver was involved in two other crashes in the same area prior to flipping into the creek.

Detectives said Wilmoth hit a vehicle while traveling on Woodpecker Road, forcing it off the road, into a fence, and to overturn.

The second driver was not injured.

More charges against Wilmoth are pending.
