Police identify cyclist killed in Route 460 hit-and-run, search for driver continues

NOTTOWAY COUNTY, Va. -- State Police have identified the cyclist killed in a hit-and-run crash Thursday morning at Route 460 and Bible Road in Nottoway County.

The victim as been identified as Leroy M. Olds, 51, of Crewe.

A Virginia State Police spokesman said the victim was struck by a pickup truck at about 4 a.m.

"A pickup truck was travelling west on Route 460, when it struck the bicyclist who was riding in the right lane. The truck did not stop at the scene," said Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick.

State Police have taken into evidence a 2002 Ford F-250 pickup truck believed to be involved in the crash. No arrest has been made at this time and the crash remains under investigation.

Previously, police said they were looking for a 1996-2006 Ford F-250 Super duty, with damage to the front right side.

Police said anyone with information was asked to call Virginia State Police at 804-553-3445.
