Richmond man arrested in 2015 Christmas Eve homicide

RICHMOND, VA. — A Richmond man has been arrested in connection with the homicide of 18-year-old Trayquan Holmes, who was killed last Christmas Eve in Creighton Court.

Todd W. Jones Sr., 37, of Creighton Road, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Jones was taken into custody early Monday morning by First Precinct officers.

On Christmas Eve 2015, Trayquan Holmes was found unconscious suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the 2000 block of North 29th Street. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members tell CBS 6 Holmes graduated from Armstrong High School in June 2015 and had aspirations of joining the Air Force.
