KING WILLIAM COUNTY, Va.– Virginia State Police have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash in King William County as an Aylett man.

Troopers say around 5:45 pm Saturday night 48-year-old Quintin Berkley lost control of his 2004 Honda Motorcycle while going through a curve on Route 601 (Calno Road) about a mile east of Route 614 (Etna Mills Road) near the Hanover County line.

Investigators say the motorcyclist slid in an oncoming 2012 Honda throwing him from his bike.

Both vehicles caught fire after the impact.

Berkley died at the scene.

Paramedics took the driver of the Honda, 41-year-old Sharonda Johnson of Glen Allen, to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, the two other passengers inside were not hurt.

State Police believe speed played a factor in the crash.
