CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Police are investigating a Tuesday morning shooting that damaged at least three vehicles outside a Chesterfield County apartment complex.

Police were called to the Rollingwood Apartments off Walmsley Boulevard at about 2 a.m. for a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they found three vehicles with shot out windows and flattened tires.

No one was hurt in the shooting, but HAZMAT crews were called to the apartment complex because the gas tank of a damaged truck was leaking fuel as a result of the shooting.

Detectives believed there was no indication that the vehicles were targeted or that the crime was related to any other incidents.

The suspects were described as three black males, all in their early 20s. They were last seen running from Pewter Avenue towards Walmsley Boulevard, according to a police spokeswoman.

While investigators had no suspect initially, they hoped someone in the neighborhood saw something and would call in with tips.

Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
