Man wounded in I-95 shooting in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. -- Virginia State Police are investigating a shooting near I-95 in Richmond that sent a man to the hospital Sunday night.

Virginia State Police troopers received a "be on the look out" alert from Richmond Police for a vehicle involved in a shooting near Maury Street and I-95, according to a state police spokesperson.

"State Police located the vehicle and an individual suffering from gunshot wounds," Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller said.

Richmond Police confirmed a man was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The southbound exit ramp to Maury St. (Exit 73) was closed due to police activity, but has since reopened.
