Police develop suspects in South Richmond shooting

RICHMOND, Va. — Police are investigating an early-morning shooting in South Richmond.

Richmond Police were called to the 1800 block of Southlawn Avenue at about 3:05 a.m. for reports of shots fired.

“Officers arrived and found a male who was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound,” a Richmond Police spokesperson said. “He was transported to an area hospital with injuries that are considered life threatening.”

Richmond Police detectives have developed suspect descriptions in the shooting, but those descriptions have not yet been released to the public. Police have not yet commented about a motive in the shooting.

Anyone with additional information about the shooting was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
