RICHMOND, Va. — Nearly six months after four Virginians won $50,000 in the record $1.58 billion Powerball drawing, three of the winners have yet to claim their winnings.

The three tickets from the January 13 Powerball drawing is now set to expire at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12. By law, winning tickets in Virginia expire 180 days after the drawing.

That is, unless whoever has those tickets comes forward to claim their prizes.

The winning numbers in the January 13 Powerball drawing were 4-8-19-27-34, and the Powerball number was 10. All three tickets matched four of the first five numbers plus the Powerball number to win $50,000.

The three tickets were bought at:

  • 7-Eleven, 9402 Richmond Highway, Lorton
  • La Bodega Supermarket, 6170 Arlington Blvd., Falls Church
  • Fas Mart, 409 Quillen Avenue, SE, Coeburn

Virginia Lottery says more than 700,000 tickets bought in Virginia won prizes in that drawing alone, including two tickets that each won $1 million, four tickets that each won $100,000 and 20 tickets that each won $50,000.

Unclaimed Virginia Lottery prizes go to Virginia’s Literary Fund. The Literary Fund is used solely for educational purposes, such as upgrading technology in schools and teacher retirement funding.

Virginia Lottery asks whoever has those tickets should contact them at 804-692-7778 as soon as possible.
