CHESTERFIELD, Va. – The Brandermill parade and Sunday Park July 4th celebration, a popular holiday tradition, has been canceled due to gloomy, rainy weather.

This information comes from the Brandermill community website.

“There will not be a reschedule date for the parade or the Sunday Park Celebration,” wrote the Brandermill Community Association. “It was a very hard decision to make and we appreciate all of the volunteers that make this day possible.”

The fireworks have been rescheduled for Saturday, July 9. No time has been given for the light show at this time. Stay tuned for updates on this story.

HOUR BY HOUR LOOK AT MONDAY’S FORECAST

Few Fourth of July traditions surpass the one held in Brandermill.

Over the years event attendance has increased significantly, and police operate checkpoints to limit the flow of traffic to residents. The general public is allowed in on foot to view the fireworks.

In order to get through, drivers will need to show proof of Brandermill residency or display their guest pass given to them by a Brandermill resident. Drivers going to The Boathouse restaurant will also be allowed through as long as they show proof of reservation.
