‘Armed and dangerous’ 19-year-old woman arrested in connection to Highland Park shooting

RICHMOND, Va. -- Police have apprehended a suspect who was wanted in connection to a shooting that occurred in Highland Park on June 26.

19-year-old Kamaria M. Walker turned herself in at the Richmond Justice Center Sunday morning and was officially charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Walker was described as being 'armed and dangerous' by police, who warned anyone who saw her not to approach her and call them immediately.

Officers were called to VCU Medical Center around 10:30 p.m.  after a man suffering from a gunshot wound was brought into the emergency room. Investigators determined that he had been injured in a shooting that occurred on the 2100 block of 1st Avenue.
