RPS supporters joined the Richmond Kickers Red Army to march from John B Cary Elementary School to City Stadium.
“It just kind of gave exposure to the schools,” Garnett said.
The group sold pint glasses for their “Raise a Pint for the Kids” event.
Anne Danforth is a mother of three in Richmond schools. She attended the rally to show support.
“I think it’s great that we are all joining together to take ownership and show our support for the city schools,” Danforth said.
Money made from the sales fund makeover and renovation projects at all 47 city schools.
The list of repairs was made longer by the recent severe weather. They will fix a concession stand damaged in the storm. Garnett says Building a Better RPS will be equipped for such events in the future.
Garnett said, “Going forward when an event like that bad storm occurs we can then do a call out to all of our partners and bring in the resources to help.”
