Chesterfield man arrested in Chippenham Parkway shooting

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – A Chesterfield man has been arrested after police say he shot into a known-victim’s car while it was traveling on Chippenham Parkway Sunday morning.

Jaquarrius D. Hardy, 23, has been charged with felonious assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and two counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle in relation to the incident.

Police said around 7:38 a.m. Sunday, they responded to the 4000 block of Lamplighter Drive for a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.

When officers arrived it was reported that Hardy had fired a shot into a vehicle traveling on Chippenham Parkway, striking a victim.

The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries.

No additional information about the incident has been released at this time. Police said their investigation into this incident is ongoing.
