RICHMOND, Va. – A five-year-old boy is in the hospital after he was backed over by a car at a Richmond apartment complex Saturday afternoon.
An off-duty police officer was working security at St John's Wood apartment complex when he heard a commotion.
That officer said a car was reversing out of a parking spot when the driver backed over the boy.
The child, who became pinned under the car, was rescued and transported to an area hospital with injuries police called not life-threatening.
Authorities said no charges will be filed against the driver.
