Police investigating after man shot in Richmond’s East End

RICHMOND, Va. – Police are investigating a shooting after a man was shot in Richmond's Creighton Court Thursday night.

Investigators said they received a call for a man shot at 9:39 p.m. They said they also received other calls of random gunfire reported shortly thereafter.

When officers arrived they found the man shot on the 2000 block of Creighton Rd. The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police sources tell CBS 6 the man was shot in the back.

There is no word on any possible suspects at this time.

Police sources tell CBS 6 reporter Jon Burkett they believe the situation could have been a botched robbery and the robbery suspect may be the man found shot.
