CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- When a Chesterfield mother found chemicals she did not recognize in the garage of her Solaris Court home, she called police.
The woman, who asked not to be identified, said she believed her son used the chemicals to make drugs.
"I turned him in. I walked in on it and I called police," she said. "Of course it breaks my heart but I still can't have that here."
HAZMAT crews responded to the home near Qualla Road Monday night after the mother called police.
All of the chemicals were removed from the property by 2:30 a.m. Tuesday.
While investigators would not comment on whether meth was being produced at the property, the woman who lives there said her son needed to get help.
"It's worse than disrespect because he put my home in jeopardy. He put the neighborhood in jeopardy," she said.
Monday's situation was similar to one back in December when police were called to the same house after the mother discovered chemicals in her home.
It is unclear if anyone was charged in the December incident. Monday's incident remains under investigation.
