PETERSBURG, Va. -- An overturned tractor trailer closed the ramp from Interstate 95 north to Interstate 85 south (Exit 51) in Petersburg. The crash was first reported at about 3:35 a.m. Tuesday.

The ramp has since reopened.

"The top of the trailer is split open," Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said. "There are no injuries and the ramp will remain closed for cleanup and removal."

The truck was hauling 42,000 pounds of paper, police said. Upon closer inspection, the paper appeared to be sales fliers for Belks department store.

To get around the closed ramp, VDOT advised drivers to continue on Interstate 95 north to Southpark Blvd. (Exit 53). From there, use the ramps to I-95 south back to I-85 south (Exit 51).
