RICHMOND, Va. -- Some Memorial Day ceremonies have been cancelled because of the rain.

This year's Sandston Memorial Day Parade has been called off as has the Memorial Day Ceremony at Hollywood Cemetery.

No reschedule date has been set for either event.

The 60th annual Commonwealth’s Memorial Day Ceremony at the Virginia War Memorial begins at 10 a.m. on the war memorial's grounds.

The annual Memorial Day Program, sponsored by Richmond National Battlefield Park in cooperation with the Department of Veterans Affairs, takes place at noon Monday at Fort Harrison National Cemetery.

The cemetery at 8620 Varina Road, two miles south of Route 5, houses more than 800 Civil War soldiers, including The  USCT – “United States Colored Troops.”

WTVR CBS 6 anchor and reporter Greg McQuade is the special guest speaker.

The Virginia Memorial Day 12K & 5K Run will continue rain or shine. It kicks off at 8 a.m. at Striker West Creek Parkway in the West Creek Business Park. (12575 West Creek Parkway.)
