RICHMOND, Va. — The months of March and April were very dry for our area, but the month of May has made up for it many times over.
Frequent bouts with rain and a few days of very heavy rainfall have pushed this May into the top ten wettest on record. As of midday Sunday, the monthly total at Richmond International Airport has hit 7.69″. This makes it the seventh wettest May on record.
Additional showers Sunday into Monday will push the total higher, so the final ranking will probably change. We are expecting some dry days in the week ahead, so the wet pattern from the weekend will end.
