BRUNSWICK COUNTY, Va. -- You only get one chance to make a first impression. That is why Brittany Baird wanted to arrive at her senior prom at Brunswick High School in style.
For her, style is not a stretch limousine or a flashy car.
Instead she asked her granddad and drop her and her prom date off on his tractor.
"I wanted a different way to go into prom that I knew people would remember, so I asked my papa to drive us in on his John Deere," she said. "Never had I EVER expected it to somewhat blow up like this."
She is referring to a video shot by Shawn Brooks with Brooks limousine.
He too was at prom, providing rides to students in a more traditional prom vehicle. His video has been viewed 16,000 times on Facebook.
The tractor ride to prom was not long one for Brittany and her date.
"We just got on in a parking lot on one side of the school," she said. "My family didn't want us on it too long in fear of us possibly falling off!"
She said her grand entrance helped set the tone for a super fun night.
"Shortly before going in, my insecurities started coming out and I was afraid that maybe some people would just think I was crazy for doing something like that. However, as soon and we started driving up to the entrance I got really excited. Everyone at the walk in reciprocated my feelings and their cheers were loud and just astonishing. Everyone loved it!" she said.
