RICHMOND, Va. -- A man accused of pointing a gun at a Virginia State Trooper was taken into custody Monday afternoon. No shots were fired in the incident, Virginia State Police spokesman Sgt. Steve Vick said.
Police have charged Tyquane Marquise Lynch, 25, of Richmond with defective equipment (Brake Light), driving while suspended, felony eluding police, brandishing a firearm, hit and run (Misdemeanor) and obstruction of justice.
Court records show Lynch has a long criminal past, including being charged with robbery in the murder of a Vietnam veteran in 2006. He was 15-years-old at the time of the crime. Other charges include possession of a firearm by a felon and multiple violations of probation.
Lynch's arrest came after an intense search, by land and air, around Columbia and Harwood streets in South Richmond.

"When a trooper initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, it refused to stop and fled a short distance before running off the road and striking a building," Sgt. Vick said. "The driver of the vehicle then exited the vehicle, pointed a gun at the Trooper and fled on foot."
After the arrest was made, police remained at the scene to search for the weapon the man allegedly pointed at the trooper.
