RICHMOND, Va. -- A cold front will sweep across the state this afternoon through this evening.
Showers and storms will move into western Virginia during the early to mid afternoon.
The storms will track eastward, moving across the metro later in the afternoon into early evening.
Areas well east of I-95 will see the storms heading into the early evening hours.
The chances for widespread severe weather are low, but some isolated thunderstorms may get strong or severe with high wind gusts and some hail.
Locally heavy downpours will accompany the storms as well.
The front will move east of the area before midnight and will be followed by clearing and cooler temperatures overnight into Sunday.
We should stay dry until late Monday night or Tuesday morning. We continue to remain well above normal for May rainfall.
