The First Wonder City Craft Beer Festival in Hopewell, is Saturday from noon – 6pm in”Festival Park” 403 Appomattox Street, near the Beacon Theater. More than 30 Craft Beers to sample, food trucks, live music all centered Downtown Hopewell and the Appomattox River. This is a celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Hopewell sponsored by the Hopewell/Prince George Chamber of Commerce. VIP Ticket $50 – VIP includes unlimited sampling, a commemorative glass, all day snacks in the VIP area, private bathrooms, a shaded area and priority parking. Camp Wilton on The James, Saturday from 10am – 5pm is based on General Marquis de Lafayette’s historic 10 day stay at Wilton in 1781. Lafayette made Wilton his headquarters from May 10 to 20, 1781, because the house was originally situated between Richmond and Petersburg, where Benedict Arnold and the British were camped. The living history Day features demonstrations of the military drill of the Continental soldier, cooking demonstrations, re-enactors. 16th Annual Holton Hustle 5K Fest: 5K Run/Walk and 1 mile Fun Run, to Promote Health and Physical Fitness in Youth and Community. Starts at 9am Saturday at Linwood Holton Elementary School. All ages can participate in the 5k Run/Walk, no pets, skateboards, roller blades/skates, scooters, or bicycles are allowed on the course. The One-Mile Fun Run is for youth in VPI/Pre K through 8th grade. A chipped is provided for timing for 5k runners and walkers and for the 1 mile run. Post-Race Festival starts at 10am and the 1 Mile Fun Run at 10:15am. The festival features food, games, raffles, and entertainment and a dunking booth.
