HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Police are investigating two early-morning robberies at two drug stores in two different counties.
Investigators are working to determine whether the robberies at the Walgreen's on South Laburnum and CVS along Mechanicsville Turnpike in Hanover are connected.
"Three male suspects entered the store and attempted to gain entry into the pharmacy," Hanover Sheriff's Office spokesman Sgt. James Cooper said about the Mechanicsville Turnpike robbery. "Once the pharmacy door alarm activated the suspects exited the store."
Investigators said before exiting the store, one of the suspects flashed a gun.
"The suspects were all wearing dark clothing and hoodies. They were last seen running on foot towards Lee-Davis Road," Cooper said.
The CVS robbery was reported at 2:20 a.m.
"Just prior to the incident in Hanover County, at approximately 1:55 a.m., it is believed the same suspects robbed the Walgreens on South Laburnum Avenue in Henrico County," Cooper said.
No one was hurt in the either drug store.
Anyone with information was asked to call Hanover County Sheriff’s Office at 804-365-6140 or Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers at 804-780-1000.
