RICHMOND, Va. – Park goers who wish to save on gas and parking money will have a public transportation option this season.

GRTC resumes its express service to Kings Dominion on Memorial Day Weekend; the date coincides with the seasonal opening day of Soak City.

The GRTC daily service will run from Saturday, May 28, 2016 through Labor Day, Sept. 5, 2016.

In addition to serving the general public, the express service provides the option of public transit for students in the Mayor’s Youth Academy and for other area young professionals who have summer employment at Kings Dominion.

Passengers can get on board the 102x Kings Dominion Express at Southside Plaza and also at a special Kings Dominion Bus Stop at Broad & 9th Street in Downtown Richmond.

The 102x bus also services all westbound bus stops between 12th Street and Belvidere Street for express service directly to Kings Dominion. Southside Plaza is the recommended pick-up and drop-off location for vehicular traffic.

The fare for Kings Dominion employees (with employee ID) is $3 per trip.

The service had more riders in 2015 than any other previous year. During the summer service between May and August 2015, more than 42,000 riders used GRTC’s 102x to get to Kings Dominion.
