Suspect fires shot in air, struggles with victim during Chesterfield robbery

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — Chesterfield Police are searching for two suspects involved in an armed robbery in Happy Hill Farms, near Colonial Heights Sunday morning.

Police said the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. in the 3100 block of Fielding Rd. They said it was reported that one male suspect approached and began speaking to a group of people, some of whom were in a vehicle.

As they spoke, another male suspect approached the group, displayed a handgun and demanded property from the victims. The suspect with the gun fired a shot into the air and grabbed a purse from a vehicle; the owner of the purse also grabbed it and the two struggled.

Ultimately the suspect successfully grabbed the purse, and both suspects fled the scene.

No one was injured during the struggle.

The first suspect was described as a black male, 19 to 20 years old, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds. He was described as wearing a gray hoodie and athletic pants.

The second masked suspect, who was armed with the handgun, was described as a black male, about 19 to 20 years old, 6 feet tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He was described as wearing all black clothes and a black ski mask.
