RICHMOND, Va. — State police said a 46-year-old woman on a motorcycle was killed in a wreck along I-95 in Richmond Saturday afternoon.

Sgt. Steve Vick with Virginia State Polcie said the two-vehicle crash happened at 4:35 p.m. on I-95 south at mile marker 67.5.

“A 2014 Aprilia motorcycle was traveling south on I-95 at a high rate of speed weaving in and out of traffic when it struck the rear of a 2010 Ford Escape, the motorcycle then ran off the road to the right and struck the guardrail,” Vick said.

The driver of the motorcycle, Stacy M. Custalow of North Chesterfield, was transported to Chippenham Hospital where she died from her injuries. Vick said she was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

Officials said speed is being considered a factor.
