RICHMOND, Va. — The former University of Richmond football player arrested after he picked up three pounds of marijuana at the campus post office pleaded guilty to
possession with intent to distribute charges.

Jeremiah Hamlin was sentenced to five years in prison, but the judge suspended the entire prison sentence.

Hamlin, of Jacksonville, Florida, did lose his driver’s license for six month as a result of the conviction.

A second charge involving drugs on school property was set aside.

Following the 2015 arrest, the University of Richmond said Hamlin was no longer a member of the football team, nor a student at the university.

Hamlin began the 2015 football season as a sophomore running back for the Spiders. He was the team’s fourth leading rusher and appeared in seven games.
