RICHMOND, Va. -- More rain will fall in Central Virginia Friday thanks to an area of low pressure that will pass by the Commonwealth. The rain will be steady and heavy at times.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect until Friday morning.

Rain will turn a bit more scattered Friday afternoon into the evening.

A few rumbles of thunder will be possible. Highs will be in the lower 60s.

Friday night, some areas could pick up over an inch of rain, and some poor drainage ponding or minor flooding may occur.

The majority of the hours this weekend will be dry.

Although a passing shower cannot be ruled out, Saturday should be a lot drier with clouds breaking for some sunshine.

Highs will be in the lower 70s.

A cold front will pass through Sunday morning with the slight chance of a shower, otherwise we will see partly cloudy skies during the day and highs back closer to 80°.

Much warmer air will return next week with highs in the mid to upper 80s Tuesday and Wednesday.

A few scattered storms will be possible.
