Resident opens fire on home intruders; police investigating possible shooting victims

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. – Chesterfield County Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex along the 11000 block of Dunbrook Drive, near Huguenot and Robious Roads. Police said they responded to the report of a shooting around 4:56 p.m.

Investigators tell CBS 6 reporter Mark Holmberg that two suspects broke into an apartment and assaulted a male resident inside with a gun. They said the man who was assaulted then fired shots at the two suspects, causing them to flee from the scene.

In addition, police said two shooting victims have shown up at two separate hospitals in the area. They’re trying to find out if the shooting victims are related to the shooting along Dunbrook Drive apartment shooting.

An investigation determined a 25-year-old man suffered gunshot wounds and was taken to an area hospital. He is listed in stable condition at this time.
