Superhero run raises $50,000 for county children’s advocates

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. -- Hundreds of caped crusaders and crime fighters were pounding the pavement at the 7th annual CASA Super Hero Run and 5K run in Henrico County,

Boys, girls and their parents dressed up as their favorite super heroes and tackled the trail at St. Joseph's Villa Saturday.

The event benefits both Chesterfield and Henrico counties' Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), which safeguard children's rights in court.

WTVR CBS 6 reporter and anchor Greg McQuade not only emceed the event, but also got to meet Wonder Woman, the Hulk and Captain America.

More than 500 runners took part in the event and raised more than $50,000 for the organization.
