CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. -- Do you know some young women that want to go to prom, but cannot afford the big event?

Georgette Gagliardi, who owns Georgette Braid and Weave on Hull Street in Midlothian, said four of her five children attended their prom.

However, she said that was not easy because she is a widow.

“Since my husband passed away it`s been very tough on me,” Gagliardi said. “And I`ve been trying to do for my kids and I see exactly what younger girls are going through so, that`s why I want to help.”

Gagliardi said she wants to help ten young women by lending them a dress for the big event as well as doing their prom hair and makeup for free.

If you want Gagliardi’s help, write an essay about why you are deserving and why you want to go prom and email it to georgettek58@yahoo.com
