VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Two  Virginia Beach police officers earned high praise from a father in need.

Chris Thralls was on his way to pick-up his five-year-old daughter Jadalynn from school when he was involved in an accident, WTKR reported.

When the responding officers learned Jadalynn would be left waiting at school, they took action.

"They just offered to help. I didn't even have to ask," Thralls said. "I put her booster in the back of the police car and they went over there to pick her up."

When the officers arrived, Jadalynn was thrilled by her ride in the police cruiser.

The officers even stopped to buy her a  Slurpee from 7-Eleven.

"She stole my heart, just adorable," Officer Diaz said. "This is the best part of this job."
