AMELIA COUNTY, Va. — The phrase “In God We Trust” will now be displayed on all marked Amelia Sheriff’s Office vehicles. With the move, the Amelia County Sheriff’s Office joins other sheriff’s offices around in the country in adding the phrase, found on U.S. currency, to their law enforcement vehicles.

“The principles that this great nation were founded on are being attacked systematically. I feel it is refreshing in the age of political correctness to be able to stand for something that is of the utmost importance, not only to me personally, but how I run this department,” Amelia Sheriff Ricky Walker wrote on Facebook. “With the decals on the car, I am reaffirming the connection, commitment and support to one another in the line of duty and in the office of law enforcement.”
