RICHMOND, Va. -- One driver was killed and a second driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after crashing on Brook Road early Friday morning, according to Richmond Police.
Two cars were traveling south on Brook, near Sherwood Avenue, when one car ran into the back of the other car. The impact pushed the first car into a power pole, a police spokeswoman said.
Police said charges were pending in this crash.
The crash was reported at about 1:22 a.m.
Brook Road between Brookland Parkway and Sherwood Avenue will be shut down until about 9 a.m. Drivers were urged to find a different route to work.
The crash, at one point, resulted in the loss of power for 263 Dominion Virginia Power customers. The power has been restored.
