CHESTERFIELD, Va. — Chesterfield Police say charges are pending against the man they say led them on a chase on Hull Street going the wrong way.

Investigators say the pursuit started just before 12:30 am Saturday morning when an officer attempted to pull over a man in a 1992 Ford pickup truck for going East in the West bound lane on Hull Street near Spring Run Road.

According to police the driver refused to pull over.

The pickup continued in the wrong direction with several officers following until he arrived at the Chattanooga Plaza at Route 288 that’s when police say the driver turned around and drove off in the correct direction.

The suspect eventually pulled over on Route 288 about a half a mile North of Lucks Lane and surrendered, officers took him into custody just before 1:00 am.

Chesterfield Police say the driver never reached excessive speeds, no one was hurt and there are no reports of damage.

Investigators have not released the suspect’s name, no word if alcohol played a factor.
