RICHMOND, Va. -- An area of high pressure across the northeastern United States has kept a cool northeasterly wind flow in our area, producing below normal temperatures.

This pattern will change early this week as highs return to around 80°.  A passing cold front on Tuesday will temporarily cool things off mid-week, but warmer air will surge back for the end of the week.  It looks like this warmer trend may hold through the end of the month.

Our tranquil weather is thanks to a stagnant pattern across the United States.  This will keep a large storm in the central U.S., causing heavy rain and severe storms in the Plains, and heavy snow in the Rockies.

The local fair weather trend means great conditions for the Squirrels through mid-week.  Our next chance of rain will arrive on Friday.
