Bus driver may face charges after Richmond school bus crash

RICHMOND, Va. — No one was injured after a Richmond Public School bus was involved in an accident after colliding with another vehicle. There were six preschool students aboard the bus at the time of the crash, according to police.

Police said officers were called to the intersection of Bells Road and Jefferson Davis Highway for the crash at approximately 2:15 p.m.

Richmond police said initial reports indicate the RPS bus disregarded a red light while eastbound on Bells Road and collided with a Honda Accord which was traveling northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway.

The Honda then collided with a Mitsubishi which was also traveling northbound on Jeff Davis.

There were no injuries reported at the scene.

Police said charges in this wreck are pending as their investigation continues.
