RICHMOND, Va. — A local printing executive’s 5,800-square-foot home is the latest high-dollar listing on Monument Avenue.
The six-bedroom, 3½-bathroom house at 2230 Monument Ave. was listed last week for $1.79 million. City records list the owners as Michael G. and Laura M. Bland.
Michael Bland is president of B&B Printing and of NimbleBridge, a marketing asset management company. The UVA grad also serves on the board of trustees for Collegiate School and New Community School, according to online bios.
The home’s grand hall features a prominent staircase.
The Blands listed the home through Ceci Amrhein-Gallasch and Bill Gallasch of Joyner Fine Properties, whose other nine-figure listings have included mansions along Monument, the former home of Shaka and Maya Smart nearby on Park Avenue, and Bill and Pam Royall’s Tudor Revival mansion on Cary Street Road.
Gallasch said the home is notable as one of the Binswanger houses, referring to the prominent Richmond family known for its successful glass business. The home features numerous stained glass windows that showcase the Binswanger Glass Company’s capabilities.
A few doors down, the former home of Harry S. Binswanger at 2220 Monument Ave. was sold in 2014 for $1.4 million.
Gallasch said their listing is also notable for the detail in its flooring, as well as the size of its lot, which is nearly a quarter-acre.
