Man arrested in Richmond after robbing, attacking grandparents in York County

YORK COUNTY, Va. -- A man was arrested in Richmond after investigators said he robbed his grandparents in York County Sunday night.  Christopher Carter is accused of stabbing his grandfather and threatening to shoot his grandmother.

WTKR reports deputies in York County were dispatched to a home in the 100 block of Sparrer Road around 9 p.m.

Investigators said Carter stabbed his grandfather multiple times in their home while he was stealing cash, jewelry and other items from his grandparents.

Officers said he took their car and fled until he was captured in Richmond.

Carter is facing several charges, including attempted first-degree murder.

His grandfather is in the hospital in stable condition.
