Police identify woman killed in I-85 crash

DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. — Police have identified the person killed in a crash on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County.

The single-car crash happened  in the northbound lane near McKenney (mile marker 43) around 6 a.m. Saturday.

According to Virginia State Police, a 2000 Ford Explorer towing a trailer was traveling north when it ran off the road and struck a ditch, causing it to overturn and strike a tree.

The driver of the Ford, 49-year-old Clementine E. Boone, died at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt.

Police say that there was also a passenger in the vehicle, but they did not sustain any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
