HENRICO COUNTY, Va -- Residents in Sandston say they are tired of overnight crime in their neighborhood.

Neighbors living off Raines, Penley and Treva Avenues said there were car burglaries for three nights straight this week. Cell phones, money, and even guns were taken from cars.

The rash of incidents has people fearful.

"Yeah, it's pretty scary," said Megan Brooks, head of the neighborhood watch. "Very scary that something can happen so close to home. We didn't have a home security system until a year ago, when it started picking up around here."

One of the burglaries even happened across the street of a Henrico police officer's home.

"[They] rummage through the car, rummage everything, take anything that's valuable," said Brooks.

Brooks said at least one home burglary also happened. An 85-year-old woman had her home buglarized while she as asleep inside. She had her church offering money stolen in that burglary.

Anyone with information on the burglaries can call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
