Police identify man shot dead in Richmond home

RICHMOND, Va. — Police identified the man killed in a North 29th Street home as 54-year-old Thomas Jones.

“At approximately 8:19 p.m. [Wednesday night], officers were called to 1307 N. 29th St. for a report of a person down. Officers arrived and found Jones inside the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene,” a Richmond Police spokesman said. “The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.”

Detectives said there were no signs of forced entry into the home. This is a developing story, so anyone with more information can submit a news tip here.
