HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — One person was taken to the hospital with injuries after a house fire in Henrico’s East End Monday afternoon. Fire officials said their crews responded to the 300 block of North Mullens Road off of East Washington Ave for the report of a house fire at 3:43 p.m.

When units arrived they found the single-story home with heavy fire coming for the rear and side of the home and smoke coming from the attic.

Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire and prevent the spread to the rest of the house.

An adult woman was transported to a local hospital with difficulty breathing. A family of two has been displaced due to the fire, but fire officials say the family will be able to get back in their home shortly.

The cause of this fire is unknown at this time. This fire is still under investigation by the Henrico Fire’s Fire Marshal’s Office.
