APPOMATTOX COUNTY, Va. — Tyson Foods has announced it will provide free meals to Wednesday’s storm victims as a part of their Tyson Foods’ Meals that Matter disaster relief program.

The company will hold the event in Appomattox County, one of the locations hit hardest during the tornado outbreak.

Tyson’s will deploy its 53-foot mobile kitchen to the Evergreen Ruritan Center, 6870 Old Evergreen Road, in Appomattox County. Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday meals will be distributed at the location.

The company says they will be at the area through dinnertime all week, but the feeding center may shift locations to best serve the ongoing needs of the community.

Cook teams will prepare the meals on-site and distribute them to the community.

Tyson’s said the program is capable of feeding more than 10,000 meals per day to disaster victims, first responders, and volunteers.
