Hundreds gather to honor fallen Prince William officer during procession

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Hundreds of Prince William residents and police officers attended Monday night’s Procession to honor Officer Ashley Guindon, who was shot and killed in the line of duty Saturday evening.

Officer Guindon’s body was transported from Mountcastle Funeral Home to Hylton Memorial Chapel, where her funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon. The procession also made a stop past the Garfield Police Station, where Guindon was assigned.

Authorities said the general public is invited to attend the viewing which starts at 10 a.m. and the service which starts at noon, according to WUSA.

Guindon, 28, was shot and killed during her first shift on Saturday after responding to a domestic call in Prince William County.

Ronald Williams Hamilton, 32, has been charged with one count of captial murder of a police officer, one count of first-degree murder, two counts of malicious wounding of a police officer and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony. He is being held without bond.
